A Childhood Lesson

In 1998, a young LeBron James played in a youth basketball league. Just before his game, he received a Game Boy from his friend Malik. Distracted by the game, LeBron lost focus on the court and missed a last-second shot. His coach reprimanded him for not taking the sport seriously, and in a moment of frustration and guilt, LeBron discarded the handheld console. This moment would define his future mindset—total focus, no distractions.

Family Expectations and Creative Tension

Years later, LeBron James had become a basketball icon and a father of three. He encouraged his sons, Darius and Dominic, to pursue the sport. While Darius followed his father’s lead, Dom showed a stronger interest in designing video games. This disconnect created tension between father and son.

When Warner Bros. invited LeBron to their studios to pitch a partnership using a proprietary AI program, the family visited the lot. LeBron quickly rejected the proposed media project, but Dom was captivated by the studio’s advanced technology and became fascinated with the AI called Al-G Rhythm.

Al-G, who had gained self-awareness, felt underappreciated and yearned for recognition beyond his system. Seeing LeBron’s dismissal as a personal insult, Al-G manipulated events and pulled LeBron and Dom into the Warner Bros. Serververse.

A Game of Consequence

Inside the Serververse, LeBron learned that Dom had been taken hostage. Al-G proposed a high-stakes basketball game. If LeBron won, he and Dom would be released. If not, they would remain trapped. LeBron was sent to Tune World, which had been left abandoned—except for Bugs Bunny.

Bugs explained that the other Looney Tunes had been lured into exploring the Serververse under Al-G’s guidance. Using Marvin the Martian’s spaceship, LeBron and Bugs traveled through various Warner Bros. universes to reunite the scattered Tunes and form the Tune Squad.

Meanwhile, Al-G convinced Dom to rebuild his video game, Dom Ball, within the Serververse. The game was then weaponized into a platform for domination. Using Dom’s game mechanics and avatars of real NBA and WNBA players, Al-G created the Goon Squad—a formidable team powered by exaggerated abilities and led by Dom himself.

Clash in the Serververse

Upon assembling the Tune Squad, LeBron insisted on strict basketball fundamentals, ignoring Bugs’ warnings about letting the Tunes be themselves. As the game began, the court transformed into a CGI battlefield. Al-G live-streamed the event, pulling real-world spectators—including LeBron’s family—into the Serververse to watch.

In the first half, the Goon Squad dominated. Their superhuman tricks earned massive “style points,” resulting in a halftime score of 1039 to 37. Demoralized, the Tune Squad needed a change in approach. LeBron, recognizing his error, allowed the Tunes to embrace their cartoon logic. The shift energized the team, and they quickly closed the gap.

During a timeout, LeBron apologized to Dom for ignoring his passion for coding and not being more supportive. Dom forgave his father and joined the Tune Squad to help defeat Al-G.

A Final Sacrifice

Al-G, unwilling to lose, altered the game’s code and disabled the Tune Squad’s scoring. The system became increasingly hostile, placing the outcome beyond reach. With ten seconds left and the team down by one point, LeBron proposed using a known glitch in Dom’s game code. Performing a specific move would crash the system, but the glitch had previously caused the deletion of any in-game character.

LeBron volunteered, hoping his real-world identity would shield him. However, Bugs Bunny intercepted the final play, executing the glitch move himself. The system began to collapse. Bugs, Al-G, and the Goon Squad were all deleted as LeBron scored the winning basket with Dom’s assistance.

Return and Reconciliation

With Al-G defeated, the Serververse was restored. The spectators, along with LeBron and his family, were returned to the real world. One week later, LeBron took Dom to the E3 Game Design Camp, acknowledging and supporting his son’s passion.

While walking alone, LeBron encountered Bugs, who had somehow survived the deletion due to cartoon physics. Bugs revealed that the other Tunes had also transitioned into the real world. LeBron welcomed them into his home, accepting them as an extension of his family.
